The Death of Robin Hood is a dark, revisionist thriller that strips away the heroic folklore to present an aged, tormented Robin Hood confronting the brutal consequences of his violent past.

The Premise
Decades after his outlaw glory days, an aging Robin Hood (Hugh Jackman) lives in self-imposed exile, consumed by guilt and trauma over the lives he took. He rejects the idealized legends written about him, dismissing them as false myths that mask a history of ruthless violence.

The Conflict

  • A Cycle of Vengeance: Robin is hunted by revenge-seeking survivors of his past raids. When his old comrade Little John draws him back into a bloody feud over farmland, Robin is gravely wounded during a brutal confrontation.

  • Sanctuary and Reflection: Left to die, Robin is taken in at a remote priory run by Sister Brigid (Jodie Comer). As she nurses him back to health, Robin forms a quiet bond with her and an orphaned girl while grappling with whether a life built on violence can ever truly find redemption.

The Resolution
Unable to bear the overwhelming remorse of his past crimes, Robin ultimately chooses not to let Sister Brigid stop his fatal bleeding, making peace with his mortality on his own terms as his myth passes into history.
