The story follows Jason and Ann Delgado, who live in a suburban Seattle home with their two children. As days stretch into weeks and eventually years, the family must work together to ration their dwindling resources, building indoor gardens and water reclamation systems to stay alive. The intense psychological strain of their prolonged confinement is further complicated when they realize that terrifying, mysterious creatures lurk outside in the rain. To survive this claustrophobic nightmare, the family must implement strict routines to remain completely hidden from the outside threat, testing their bonds and resilience as they face the great unknown.
