Trunk Sale

Today was Feira da Ladra day, but it was also the flea market right on my doorstep—the Trunk Sale. So I went to the Trunk Sale, bought 3 things, scratched the shopping itch, and headed back home.

It’s the first time something like this has happened. Feira da Ladra is my ultimate go-to spot. I love browsing through knick-knacks, hunting for treasure among the junk, and spotting that amazing deal that nobody else noticed. What does this say about me? Apparently not much, and maybe absolutely everything.

A good deal is always a power dynamic being established and won. In second-hand markets, you usually get two winners: the seller and the buyer, both walking away with the feeling that they asserted their ground and came out on top. Is that what actually drives me? The informal power of decision at every stall where I ask for the price?
